The King County Department of Development and Environmental Services (DDES) announced it would lay off 25 staff following action on Thursday by the King County Council Budget Committee on the 2010 budget. Following is a list of those notices, by division:
Building Services Division – seven;
Land Use Services Division – eight;
Administration Division – eight;
Fire Marshall’s Division – one;
Directors Office – one.
The MBA was told that the first in line to be cut would be “non-revenue generators,” meaning, reviewers will not be targeted for cuts. The MBA made their beliefs clear that eliminating revenue-generating positions would be unacceptable.
